 25 February, 2019, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced that it has completed a 5G smartphone video call demonstration in partnership with Wind Tre and Open Fiber. Compliant with 3GPP R15, this demonstration fully showcases ZTE’s 5G leadership and commercialization capabilities.

Based on the 5G pilot network in L ‘ Aquila, Italy, this demonstration adopts ZTE’s end-to-end 5G solutions, including RAN, core network, bearer, and device, successfully making a 5G video call from Barcelona (where is going on the Mobile World Congress) to L ‘ Aquila, where is located the ZTE Innovation and Research Center on the 5G.

In this demonstration, the ZTE 5G smartphone at ZTE’s MWC booth in Barcelona made a video call with the 5G smartphone in the 5G test field in L ‘ Aquila, Italy, sending the live video in Italy back to the booth in Barcelona.

As strategic partners, ZTE, Wind Tre and Open Fiber have been conducting, along with L’Aquila University, a series of 5G verification projects from 2018 to 2020. The three companies established the L’Aquila 5G Innovation Research Center in February 2018 and completed the demonstration of 5G-based UAV HD, Panorama VR live streaming and Structural Health Monitoring in October 2018 at ZTE Wireless User Congress and 5G Summit in L’Aquila.

By virtue of its end-to-end technological advantages, ZTE is committed to creating premium networks with intelligence for operators in the 5G era. So far, ZTE has cooperated with 30 operators in 5G across the globe, and has launched 5G end-to-end commercial products, fully satisfying the needs of the first wave of 5G network deployment.
