29 August 2022, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, together with the Guangdong Branch of China Mobile, has innovated the DeepEdge solution and completed the industry-first verification of DeepEdge service identification and large-scale intelligent guarantee on 5G base station in Guangzhou, China.

The verification results show that this solution has significant improvements in service identification ratio, intelligent guarantee effect and user experiences. The cloud game service identification ratio reaches 100%, while its user throughput of the cell increases by 7.15% after the intelligent guarantee. For code scanning service, the user throughput of the cell increases by 9.84%. In terms of the user experiences of video services in the top cell, the loading delay and the lagging drop by 72.9% and 58.6% respectively, and the vEMI (Video Equivalent MOS Indication) rises by12.6%.

5G has been deeply integrated into daily lives, and has achieved rapid growth in some service fields such as instant messaging, online meetings, cloud games and so on. Therefore, optimizing user experiences of 5G services has become one of the focuses of operators.

Currently, there are still some bottlenecks in user experience guarantee: the services cannot be identified by base stations, and it’s hard to build an independent perception evaluation system based on service types. However, this DeepEdge solution deployed on 5G base station can fix them very well. The whole process of intelligent identification, accurate assurance, perception measurement and other optimization in a single wireless domain can be achieved through software upgrades without service interruption.

Moving forward, the Guangdong Branch of China Mobile will deploy the DeepEdge solution on a large scale, combined with innovative functions such as user orchestration, to achieve optimal user experiences in an intelligent and simplified way.
